Latham’s Nursery is a family owned and operated nursery that was started in the late 1960’s by Johnny Latham. His wife, Judy, joined the company in the early 1970’s and together they built a reputation of growing quality plants for the wholesale and retail trade in Mecklenburg and Union Counties. Their son, Hunter, joined as Sales Manager in the mid-1990’s and is now Vice President of the nursery helping the business to grow to cover all of North Carolina and the northeast region of the United States. Today the nursery has grown to encompass three different locations with over one hundred and forty acres of container production, ranging in size from 1 gallon containers up to 30 gallon. We grow a wide variety of plant material including Hollies, Maples, Junipers, Camellias, Magnolias, Crapemyrtles, and a range of other woody ornamentals.
The Garden Center was opened in the spring of 2009 and has proven to be useful for both our wholesale and retail customers. This area is a great visual tool for both homeowners and landscapers alike to really get a feel for what they are creating, whether it is an entire landscape package or a few replacement plants. Color changes seasonally in the Garden Center where a beautiful array of annuals and vegetables are put on display that are grown right here in our greenhouses. A very dedicated and talented team of people tend to over ten thousand square feet of annuals housed under our newly built greenhouses in both spring and fall.
In all we do, we remain mindful that we are Nurserymen who have the opportunity to be a part of this great industry. It is something we truly enjoy and feel privileged to be able to do. At Latham’s Nursery, Inc, it is our ongoing commitment to provide a diverse selection of quality plant material at a fair market value. All of us here at Latham’s Nursery would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to earn your business. We strive to offer the best plant material and service possible and look forward to helping you meet your plant needs in the future.
